Protecting Our Client’s Land and Rights

When a third party applied for a prospecting right over our client’s land, including historic gold mine dumps, our team acted quickly. During the 30-day public participation process under the National Environmental Management Act, we reviewed over 500 pages of environmental, technical and legal documents to identify compliance gaps, assess environmental risks, and evaluate the potential impact on our client’s operations.

We focused on understanding exactly what needed to be done, without getting side-tracked by what was not relevant. We spoke to the right people, considered the various interests at play, and worked as a team to provide solution-focused, partnership-driven advice with a proactive mindset.
